History of Hotel Neptun
In 1903 almost on the beach , the build of this interesting achitectonically building was begun and on 24th of september 1907 it was completed.
Nearness of the sea makes the building more enchanting but it also poses component of danger due to contact with sea element.
And it happend. 9-11 of january 1914 there was a storm of a great power (so called „bear wave”) which caused serious movement of sand dune declivity, where „Neptun” stands. The building was in danger of subsiding.Because of that, the owner of the building decided to sell it very cheaply next day after storm.The new owner- Mr Maximilian Nitschke was rich and influential man.Thanks to him, hotel does not stand on bare declivity but in beautiful pine green.Every spring he took on some hundreds people who made refulation of the beach using spades (they widened it)
People from german ton who were invited by Mr and Mrs Nitschke, were coming to „Kurhaus” (that is how it was popularly called).This acquaintance came to fruition in building solid dam in front of the building which protects it from stroms. The building became safe.
After war, city Leba became the owner of the building and gave it in rental for FWP- Workers Holidays Foundation.After 45 years of exploatation without any rebuildings, tumble-down building was sold to private owners who slowly bring it to the past brilliance. Therefore the past climate of this place with its spirit is succeeded and also indispensable comforts for the most fussy customer, are added.
Descendants and family of past owners are also customers of „Neptun”. They visit it with emotion and enjoy seeing it becoming more and more beautiful every year.
